If you’re anything like me, you have fabric that feels too beautiful to cut.
A remnant from a dress.
A piece of linen found on a trip.
A fat quarter chosen for its color and never quite used.
What if instead of saving it, you gave it structure?
In this workshop, we work at a small, contained scale to explore form and balance through a single contemporary quilt block. Using a limited palette and clear geometric shapes, we look at how proportion, contrast, and placement influence visual calm.
The block becomes a study: how much color is enough? Where does the eye rest? What happens when form is slightly shifted?
This is not about perfection. It is about clarity. About seeing how structure supports freedom.
You may leave with a finished quilt block ready to frame or integrate into a larger piece. Or you may simply leave with a sharper eye and a steadier hand.
Either way, the value is in the process: working deliberately, choosing with intention, allowing form to emerge through thoughtful construction.
